Arnaud Maggs

One of the hardest parts of starting a Masters is trying to pin down exactly what you want to study. I saw the extensive Arnaud Maggs exhibition at the National Gallery of Canada this summer, and it certainly inspired some ideas for a research topic. 

I found his series of photographs of envelopes from Parisian flea markets to be extraordinary. The envelopes are meticulously collected, documented, even archived in a way, and then subsequently displayed, which points to an urge to collect.
